Jana Long, E-RYT, the director of Power of One Yoga Center. She is an integrative health practitioner, yoga teacher, meditation facilitator and spiritual life coach. She earned her 200-hour teacher certification at the Yama School for Yoga, Ayurveda & the Meditative Arts in Baltimore, MD, and completed the level one certification course in Food, Breath, Sound and Ayurvedic Nutrition from the Wise Earth School of Ayurveda in Candler, NC. Her 500-hour professional level yoga teacher certification was awarded by the Kripalu School for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA. Jana trained at Duke Integrative Medicine in Durham, NC, and was certified in the therapeutic application of yoga for seniors. Yoga studies abroad include trips to Ghana, West Africa where she learned about the traditional healing and spiritual practices of the Akan people, and studies in yoga tantra and meditation at the Bihar School of Yoga and the Sivananda ashram in India. She is an initiate into the Satyananda yoga tradition whose central teachings are "serve, love and give." She was given the spiritual name Gyanamati which means "Wise Mother" by her guru Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati.
In addition to yoga, Jana is a writer and an ardent student of astrology with more than 40 years experience as an intuitive interpreter of natal charts.
